Join us for the #AtoZika Twitter Town Hall on Tuesday, August 30th. We’ll answer your questions about the Zika virus.

Join us for the #AtoZika Twitter Town Hall. Tuesday, August 30th. Experts will answer your #AtoZika questions. HHS.gov.

Zika is spread primarily through a mosquito’s bite. Zika infection during pregnancy can cause serious birth defects like microcephaly and is associated with other adverse pregnancy outcomes. At HHS, we’re doing everything we can to prevent, detect and respond to the Zika virus here in the United States with a focus on reducing the risk of Zika to pregnant women and women of childbearing age. We continue to learn more about Zika every day, and social media has been a valuable tool to share critical information and messages about the virus with pregnant women, women of childbearing age, their partners and other key audiences. That’s why HHS is hosting an all-day Zika Twitter “Town Hall” on August 30th. We want to hear your questions and concerns about Zika, and let you know what HHS and the Administration are doing to combat the virus.

This Tuesday, for the first time ever, public health experts from across the department will answer questions directly from you, live on Twitter.  We will visit Twitter’s D.C. headquarters to engage and educate the public about the virus including symptoms, prevention, vaccine and improved diagnostics development efforts, the need for additional funding and more.

The #AtoZika Twitter Town Hall will take place all day on Twitter.

Submit your questions about the Zika virus on Twitter using #AtoZika.

And make sure your friends and family know that this event is happening. Share the event on Twitter and Facebook to help us get the word out. See you on Tuesday!
