HUD USER makes available printed and electronic copies of published HUD research. Primarily sponsored by HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research, these reports, executive summaries, case studies, and guidebooks span the fields of housing and urban development and are available as free downloads. Most reports can also be ordered in hard copy from the HUD USER Web Store. Selected titles are available in eBook format at the PD&R eBookstore.

Interim Reports
Interim reports of long-term research projects serve as progress reports on implementation, share preliminary insights and discoveries made in early phases of a study, and build a basis for analyzing final outcomes. more »
Multidisciplinary Research
PD&R developed the Multidisciplinary Research Team (MDRT) vehicle to manage a team of qualified researchers. Researchers are selected for their expertise to produce an array of high quality, short-turnaround research. more »
Research Cadre
The Assisted Housing Research Cadre supported and expanded PD&R’s research capacity with quick-turnaround reports on topics related to assisted housing. The Cadre was a standing group of up to 28 leading social science researchers external to HUD.

Research Partnership
In 2012, PD&R was granted the authority to enter into research partnerships with outside entities through non-competitive cooperative agreements. This authority allows PD&R to participate in innovative research projects that inform HUD's policies and programs. Reports under this partnership are available here.
