Naval Sea Systems Command

In order to maintain and operate a combat or weapon system, Sailors need documentation, training manuals, spare parts, tools, and other support items. Collectively, these items and the processes that ensure their existence are called logistics, or Integrated Product Support.

Office of Logistics

The Office of Logistics is responsible to provide leadership required to meet present and future command mission logistics requirements; conduct logistics analysis to identify and assess new requirements, processes, and technologies to enhance system supportability; serve as an advocate for the command, interfacing with the Navy's logistics community, industry, and other government activities; develop, monitor, assess, and improve comprehensive and meaningful command-level logistics metrics for quality, cost, and timeliness of logistics products and services.

Our immediate goals include:
  • To provide an honest and collaborative environment for the logisticians at NSWC Port Hueneme;
  • Articulate future logistics requirements to Department management and the workforce and ensure we are in a position to execute those requirements;
  • Ensure we have an environment that allows the workforce to provide the best Integrated Logistics Support for the Surface Warfare Combat Systems;
  • Continue to provide outstanding Fleet support

Product Support is enabled by 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements designed to deliver system readiness and availability while optimizing system life cycle cost.

Integrated Product Support Pillar

What we strive for

Our primary and outmost mission is to support the Fleet!  By following and adhering to the Integrated Support Strategy using it as a tool to deliver the best possible product thus providing our Sailors with the capabilities they need to defend our nation.

NSWC PHD logistics experts have transformed our products and services in support of acquisition reform initiatives and system supportability methodologies. In today’s environment we are providing digitized logistics technical data, developing supportability methods for commercial-off-the-shelf items, and focusing on a reduction in total ownership cost.
