New Hire Reporting

Employers are required to report basic information on new and rehired employees within 20 days of hire - some states require it sooner. Private sector employers report to the State Directory of New Hires. Federal agency employers report to the National Directory of New Hires. By reporting new hires, you allow child support agencies to quickly locate parents who owe child support and send income withholding orders.
