How to Use DATA2020

DATA2020, the Healthy People 2020 interactive data tool, allows users to explore data and technical information related to the Healthy People 2020 objectives.

Objectives

Each Healthy People 2020 objective in DATA2020 is described under the Objectives tab in the objective block. The objective block includes a plain language statement of the objective and its baseline status, along with the desired Healthy People 2020 target for that objective. The objective block also documents how the target was set, what data source was used, and where to find more information and available data.

Healthy People 2020 objectives that retain the same definition as the previous Healthy People iteration (Healthy People 2010) are identified by a DATA2010 icon in the objective block. DATA2010 is a separate website—now archived—that users can still navigate to search for Healthy People 2010 objectives and data. Users can also read a crosswalk between objectives from Healthy People 2010 to Healthy People 2020 [PDF – 1 MB].

National Data

DATA2020 allows users to explore the latest national data and trends that are available for Healthy People 2020 objectives. Users can further examine the data that are available for demographic population groups such as race and ethnicity, sex, educational attainment, and income, as well as other groups.

When national data are available for a Healthy People 2020 objective, a DATA2020 icon will be displayed in the objective block. The DATA 2020 icon links users to the DATA2020 search for that objective.

Users can further refine their search to data that are available for demographic population groups of interest.
