Please simplify this app!
I wish this app could just go back to being a simple interface, where I write and read messages. All the bells and whistles are irritating and take up too much space, and are overwhelming what used to be fairly easy. I also don't like how much access Facebook has to my life and information, regardless of how many privacy settings I edit. And I wish that messenger was still included instead Facebook app- it's obnoxious to have two apps. If it isn't brown, then don't fix it! Pay attention to all the low ratings, Facebook! I'd quit using it, but I have family and friends all over the globe and most apps and phone plans don't make connection easy. Therefore if my loved ones wants to know I'm not dead, Facebook is really the only way. It's the last link. So stop dressing it up and keep it simple! And for real, the updates are way too frequent.
Bad Update and Load Times
This update introduced "Active Users" which is annoying because I don't want to talk to these individuals if I primarily use this app for its group chat. It also shortened your view of current conversations to 4 until you've scrolled past all the pointless additions, which makes it hard to have any more than that. Also, why do favorites only include people if i only really talk on group chats? Wouldn't that make more sense?
This app used to be a four star app and now it's two stars-ish. I wonder if they did any user studies at all to decide to make these changes. I need more than four conversations at once.
Also, now Facebook has added the notification in the app for birthdays. I have these bodyguards turned off in my Facebook app, but I still get them in messenger. No, I don't want to message people cuz it's their birthday. If.
Great for communication but some issues
I started using this app about a few months ago and I liked it then. But now, it has extra things like the Snapchat like feature. I don't feel that was a feature needed. I also would like if there is a way to delete photos in the shared photos section rather than having to scroll all the way through the messages to delete them. This app also takes up so much space but I use it a lot as well as other apps. I believe you guys need to calm down on the updates. If you are to update it, then make an actual needed change. Also, the app doesn't update profile pictures, even my own profile picture isn't updated. That needs fixing as well.
