Maps
Maps showing the location of Indian reservations, Indian land claims, and military bases are available to provide information that can be used during consultation. The National NAGPRA program does not have printed versions of these maps available for distribution. However, PDF versions can be downloaded and taken to your local printing or copy center.

Indian Reservations shows the location of Federal Indian Reservations in the continental United States, and is based on information compiled by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Schedule of Indian Land Cessions and 67 maps was compiled by Charles C. Royce.

Judicially Established Indian Lands is based on information provided by the Indian Claims Commission. The Indian Claim's Commission was established by Congress in 1946 to settle land claim disputes between Indians and the U.S. Government.

Military Installations, Ranges, and Training Areas contains geographic information for major installations, ranges, and training areas in the United States and its territories. The dataset serves as a consultation resource for helping to identify collections from DOD lands.

National Atlas maps show the Federal Lands and Indian Reservations overlaid on top of State boundaries, selected streams and waterbodies, and major cities for easy reference. In addition, there is a map showing Federal Lands and Indian Reservations for the entire United States.

The Tribal Directory Assessment Tool (TDAT) Version 2.0 is a web-accessible database that contains information about federally recognized Indian tribes and their geographic areas of current and ancestral interest. TDAD links tribes' areas of interest down to the county level. It lists names and contact information for tribal leaders and Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs). Users can query the database by street address, county, state, and tribe. Information generated from TDAT can be exported in spreadsheet format for use in other programs.

Map of Alaska Boroughs and Census Areas is based on information compiled by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Research and Analysis Section. Alaska is divided into 19 organized boroughs and 1 unorganized borough. The U.S. Census Bureau, in cooperation with the state of Alaska, divides the unorganized borough into 10 census areas. Boroughs and census areas are both treated as county-level equivalents by the Census Bureau. The NACD, for the purpose of a search tool, treats boroughs or census areas as a county in the search field.

The Alaska Native Entities Consultation Resource is a listing of Native Entities within the State of Alaska recognized and eligible to receive services from the Bureau of Indian Affairs correlated with their specific borough/census areas, Native Village Corporations, Native Regional Corporations, and communities.
