Teachers: Play #NDAFW BINGO with your students to enhance their knowledge of drug facts: https://teens.drugabuse.gov/national-drug-alcohol-facts-week/get-activity-ideas/ndafw-bingo
The NDAFW team is pleased to introduce a new BINGO game that anyone can use. Instead of displaying the words BINGO at the top, the 5 letters read NDAFW. The center of the card will remain an empty space, and the other blocks will be filled with terms related to NDAFW. The caller (teacher, RA, mentor) will call out a vocabulary word from the sheet provided (see attachment below) and then will read the description that follows the word.

Many people think drug #addiction, tolerance, and dependence are the same thing, but they’re not. Each term means something different about how drugs affect a person’s brain and body. Learn the difference on the Drugs & Health Blog. http://bit.ly/2iMCPYf
Many people think drug addiction, dependence, and tolerance are pretty much the same thing. But in fact, each term means something very different.

In 1996, 22 percent of high school seniors smoked cigarettes every day. But today, less than 5 percent do. See how teen substance use has changed over time with the latest Monitoring the Future survey results on the NIDA Drugs & Health Blog. http://bit.ly/2iETtIP
The percentage of teens who are smoking and drinking is dropping, and that’s great news for teens’ health!

To prevent the initiation of drug use and the escalation to addiction in those who have already initiated use.
Introduction
NIDA's mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. This charge has two critical components. The first is the strategic support and conduct of research across a broad range of disciplines. The second is ensuring the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve prevention, treatment and policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction.
