USAID seeks to help Pakistan prevent maternal and child illness and deaths by increasing access to quality family planning services, providing essential care to mothers and children, and building stronger health care systems.

USAID's health program in Pakistan aims to:

  • Support comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs;
  • Improve tuberculosis detection and treatment;
  • Improve water supply and sanitation;
  • Reduce maternal and child mortality rates;
  • Expand access to family planning and reproductive health programs; and
  • Address public health threats posed by infectious diseases.
