In the West Bank and Gaza, USAID expands access to high quality medical facilities and trains doctors, nurses, and midwives to improve healthcare for women and children.

Results

179 medical and para-medical practitioners trained in evidence-based clinical guidelines

Trainings have specific learning objectives and expected knowledge, skills and/or competencies to be gained by participants. Training is a crucial component of building local capacity to reduce maternal and child death and disease.

11 health facilities rehabilitated
Health facilities in flagrant disrepair are frequently unsafe and inadequate for providing health care. Rehabilitation ranges from cosmetic upgrades such as whitewashing walls, to structural improvements, and mending broken furniture.
