Indonesia is one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia but 115 million people still struggle on less than $2 a day. The nation strives to foster an environment conducive to inclusive economic growth and prosperity for all its people.

USAID's Economic Growth program in Indonesia aims to:

  • Promote business advocacy, regulatory streamlining, capacity building and policy analysis to encourage an economic environment conducive to investment and inclusive growth;
  • Support the inclusion of disadvantaged citizens in financial markets through loan credit guarantees and innovations like mobile banking and other mobile applications;
  • Support the agriculture sector by promoting sustainable practices, policies, regulations, research, and biotechnology; and
  • Improve smallholder production and livelihoods while creating market linkages that connect buyers and sellers.
