USAID's environmental activities promote ecologically sustainable tourism in national parks and protected areas that will help Honduras preserve and leverage its rich natural assets to underpin sustainable, broad-based growth. USAID also works closely with the Government of Honduras on issues related to biodiversity conservation and prevention of deforestation.
