International Child Labor Laws

There are a number of international labor standards, including those on child labor. In the U.S., the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor, and Human Trafficking in the Department of Labor's International Labor Affairs Bureau promotes the elimination of the worst forms of child labor around the world and increases knowledge and information on child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking.

OCFT publishes a report of Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor which details the efforts of over 144 countries to eliminate the worst forms of child labor. In addition, the office compiles a List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor and a List of Products Requiring Federal Contractor Certification as to Forced or Indentured Child Labor.
