Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030

On September 16, 2015, the U.S. Department of Energy and its partners, the Council on Competitiveness and the Alliance to Save Energy, released Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030: A Strategic Roadmap for American Energy Innovation, Economic Growth, and Competitiveness (Roadmap). This effort supports the goal the President set in his 2013 State of the Union address to double energy productivity, measured by gross domestic product (GDP) per unit of energy use, from the 2010 level by 2030.

The Roadmap was the product of a year-long series of stakeholder dialogues that began with a launch event in November of 2014, followed by three Regional Dialogues to discuss specific topics related to energy productivity:

  • Accelerating Energy Productivity in Buildings and Transportation (Raleigh, NC), February 4-5, 2015
  • Accelerating Energy Productivity in the Power Sector (Redmond/Seattle, WA), April 13-14, 2015
  • Accelerating Energy Productivity through Advanced Manufacturing (Minneapolis, MN), July 15-16, 2015

The Roadmap was released at a National Summit in Washington, DC on September 16, 2015. To learn more about the initiative, you can read the Roadmap, see the DOE press release, or visit the Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030 partnership website
