USAID’s investments in infrastructure generated a benefit-cost ratio of 2.6, and significantly increased incomes of people where the infrastructure is located due to easier market access.

In many developing countries, basic infrastructure—power, water, sanitation, information and communications technologies, and roads—is failing, insufficient, or non-existent.

$11,520,529 leveraged from public and private sources for clean energy, Information and Communication Technology, and transport infrastructure

Amount of dollars that were mobilized from the public and private sectors including equity investments, lending guarantees, and partnerships.

24,896 people increased access to modern energy services

Modern energy services are defined as increasing the efficiency, reliability, diversity, and transparency of energy services and promote investment in the development, transport, processing and utilization of indigenous energy sources and import fuels.

2,029 professionals trained on energy-related policy and regulatory practices, business management systems, and other technical areas in the energy sector

Training is defined as sessions in which participants are educated according to the defined curriculum and set learning objectives. Energy sector training, including in the areas of energy policy and regulation and energy-related business management, is important for building local capacity and promoting sustainability.

49 kilometers of transportation infrastructure constructed or repaired

Transportation infrastructure includes roads, rail, etc. Transportation infrastructure is necessary for the movement of goods and is essential for successful development.

2 laws, policies, agreements and/or regulations addressing clean energy (climate change) proposed, adopted, or implemented

Laws, policies, agreements, and/or regulations include those formed and formally endorsed by government, non-government, civil society, and/or private sector stakeholders with the intent to explicitly address climate change. The formal and informal institutional structures in the form of laws, policies, agreements, and regulations are essential aspects of many USAID programs because they provide the enabling environment on which actions are built and maintained.
