The Delta Regional Authority (www.dra.gov) is an eight-state region which seeks to improve employment, local economies, and quality of life, for the citizens who live and work in the region. Three of the five counties served by Mainstream Independent Living Resource Center (Pulaski, Lonoke, and Prairie) are situated inside the boundaries of the DRA. DRA's "Healthy Delta Initiative" demonstrates the organization's commitment to the overall economic and physical health of people working and living in the Delta. The DRA 2011 National Policy Conference proved invaluable in educating me about the goals that have been realized in the Delta, and those yet to come. It definitely widened my vision!
