Thank you for all the information I can share with my Sailors! You guys make it easy to navigate. Now if only you guys had a "how to" on how to actually find the publications after putting out the BIB list!

I think the quotas are rigged how is it you take an exam just to find out 3 months later that you taking the exam was pointless because it was zero percent for ...your rate that's messed up if you ask me if it's gonna be zero percent they should let u know before you take ur exam... they can save the paper... Advancement in the Navy has always sucked. But now to make people have to wait to find out via the "Command Triads"!!!!! WTF why in the hell would I want someon...e who doesn't even know my name telling me if I advanced or not? I'd rather find out via my profile sheet or looking it up myself! Damn the Navy needs to get right for once! See More

People take for granted the valuable information this resource provides Sailors. I thank you Navy Advancement Center. Especially your throughout the year updates. Not centered specifically to "advancement time".

its unfair to have us wait until our CO tells us...it ruins the fun and excitement of finding out at work at an all hands call or via 1mc

I love this, but hate it at the same time. Anticipating results is painful, and I find myself checking this at the very least once a day. Excited about bibs on the phone.

A lot of Sailors are complaining about not being able to view their profile sheets. Commands are not able to print out hundreds of profile sheets to hand delive...r them to their Sailors. Reservists that do not live close to a base do not have access to .mil computers (i.e. NMCI, shipboard navy computers, ect..)

Can NAC put a statement or answer why we are not able to view our Profile sheets using a CAC reader or the REC centers on Navy bases...?

Reservists are issued personnel CAC readers to use at home with our personal computers/laptops...

I can get on every .mil website using my personal CAC reader or at the REC center on San Diego Naval Base. I can even log onto the NAC website using the NKO link, but I CANNOT view my profile sheet, nor the 100 other Sailors that I have seen trying to view their profiles.

It does not make since that I can get on mypay, bupers, nko, onetouch, erms website & just about any other DON website that needs a SAR form (work related) using my personal CAC reader, but when I click on the link to view my profile sheet, the internet times out.

One of the workers from the REC Center located on San Diego Naval Base has called just about everybody trying to figure out why nobody can view their profiles from their government computers... we found out that they are not .mil computers, but they are installed & configured according to MILSPEC & government contract. These are the GO WIFI Computers available through MWR....

Please answer why you have to be on a .mil website to view profile sheets? I do not believe there is anything secret about profile sheets, they do not list your SSN.. just your name, eval & test scores....

Release of quota & names promoted was excellent for timeframe of release...

but the profile release is TERRIBLE! UNSAT

The Navy is changing. Upholding and supporting these changes is an all-hands responsibility no matter your rank, title or personal feelings. Posting negative or... controversial opinions about Navy policy or procedure on a social media sight is a display of poor military bearing. Square yourselves away shipmates. See More

Hello (NWEA) my name is AD3 (AW) Arch Christopher u all won't to make changes to the exam is here an idea instead of making the test let's make da test platform... basis in stead of overall knowledge basis of the the rate u r in testing like that will truly sho how nows the platform they're working on in stead of how is jus book smart but can't actually fix any ting on there platform and have a profecenicy test on the platform thay are working on. That would really sho how should make rank an not some one that have time to read and remmber alll the pubs but thay brake more than they fix in there tine in the Navy good sailor's are being put out for not making rank. When thay are the ones that there job back to front an are the ones go get the jog dun and it's the ones sit on there ass and study while we're out getting the job dun an don't have the time to study See More

What difference does it make if you find out that day? You still have to do PO leadership and it's
Not like it affects you getting paid. Knowing before your COC is a problem. Stop
Complaining!

In accordance with the advancement instruction, your chain of command is required to counsel all who aren't selected to chief before announcing who was selected. Chief results should not be posted on Facebook prior to commands finding out.

The administration of advancement exams for E4-E7 advancement candidates participating in Cycle 100 should be completed by the last weekend in February. The Navy Advancement Center processes answer sheets as they are received, so it is very important for Reserve commands to return answer sheets as soon as possible. Any Reserve exam administered in March requires NETPDC approval. Refer to NAVADMIN 201/16 for more information.

ESTABLISHING THE E7 SELECTION BOARD ELIGIBLE LISTS
The Navy Advancement Center is calculating the Final Multiple Scores (FMS) of all Cycle 234 Chief Petty Officer candidates. In each competitive grouping, candidates are rank ordered by their FMS. To be selection board eligible, a candidate must fall in the top 60% of the rank-order list. Candidates who are waived for the advancement Cycle due to service in designated combat zones are added to the 60% cut. NAC anticipates publishing Profile Sheets with each candidate's selection board status in early March.

WHY DOES MY EXAM HAVE CONTENT THAT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY JOB?
Exam content is aligned with each rating's occupational standards. More importantly, the exam is designed to measure rating knowledge of a grouping that competes for advancement. For example, an aviation rating gets one set of quotas for Sailors who serve on different platforms and have unique NECs. The exam must identify the most knowledgeable Sailors in that rating, and therefore covers general rating knowledge... for that aviation rating based on quota allocation. So, a Sailor who works on F-18s competes against Sailors in the same rating who work on a different aircraft. Chief Petty Officers in each rating decide what questions should be asked and determine exam content. Again, the big takeaway should be that exam content is closely aligned with a rating's occupational standards.

CPO ANSWER SHEET PROCESSING - CYCLE 234
The Navy Advancement Center will process around 35,000 Chief Petty Officer exam answer sheets for advancement Cycle 234. To date, NAC has already received and scanned 17,000 answer sheets. Late exams will be administered by commands in the coming weeks, and NAC should soon be receiving overseas shipments as well as deployed unit answer sheets. We expect to meet our target of releasing Cycle 234 Profile Sheets with E7 selection board eligibility information in early March. Good luck to all CPO candidates!

UPDATED AERR SCHEDULE POSTED
The Navy Advancement Center (NAC) posted an updated Advancement Exam Readiness Review (AERR) schedule listing the upcoming panel dates for enlisted ratings. During an AERR, selected Chief Petty Officers review questions in exam banks, verify reference material, write new questions, and ensure the test plan reflects the right mix of questions at each paygrade in their rating. TAD funding for AERRs is covered by NAC. A lot of effort is put into getting right mix of experience from the selected panel members. NAC's NKO portal has details about AERRs and how to submit a package for panel consideration. Put your package in today to be an AERR panel member!

APPROVED CALCULATORS FOR THE NWAE
Only the administrating Educational Services Officer (ESO) can approve the use of a personal calculator for the Navy-Wide Advancement Exam (NWAE). When in doubt, be sure to show the calculator to the ESO days before the exam is administered. DO NOT wait until exam day!
-- What calculator features are permitted?
Solar- or battery-powered, hand-held electronic calculators of any key configuration may be used so long as they are not capable of... displaying only a single line of numeric and mathematical characters. Graphing calculators, calculators capable of displaying running text, mini-laptop computers, and similar items supporting information storage and retrieval are not authorized. Each candidate must provide a calculator for their own use.
Additionally, examination proctors shall determine that your personal calculator is for mathematical use only and cannot be used for retrieving or storing text. Seabee ratings are not authorized to use preprogrammed construction, electrician, plumbing and other calculators designed specifically for tradesman use (such as Construction Master IV). Engineering Aid (EA) candidates are authorized to use general scientific calculators that are not programmable.
Also, calculators assigned in A school may not be permitted for use during the NWAE.
Again, when in doubt, check with your ESO.

PREPARING FOR THE CHIEF PETTY OFFICER EXAM
The Navy-Wide Advancement Exam (NWAE) will be administered on January 19 for all Active Duty and Full Time Support chief petty officer candidates, as well as PO1s who are applying for the LDO program. The 175-question exam has 150 occupational questions and 25 Professional Military Knowledge (PMK) items. Every question was verified by a rating subject matter expert and tied to a reference. Those references make up the exam-specifi...c bibliography that can be downloaded on NAC's NKO portal or via Navy COOL. Exam topics and subtopics are also available to help candidates prepare for the exam. Exam scores are based on how well a candidate does in comparison to all other candidates taking the same exam. A score of 80 goes to the candidates who answer the most questions correctly. Good luck to all PO1s taking the exam next week!

  • 20170212 Good Afternoon Navy Advancement Center. While doing some ...research to create a training tool for the HM Rate regarding forms. I ran into to discrepancies which might confuse Sailors. If you could please clarify. These discrepancies come from NAVEDTRA 14295B, 2010 edition. 1) Privacy Act Statement, DD Form 2005. On page 4-7 right column, 3rd paragraph and again on page 4-9, in figure 4-4, both of these claim DD Form 2005 is on the Front of Center page of NAVMED 6150/21-30. Yet on page 4-15 in the list of forms under the left column, "Part III (Back of Center Page)" the last bullet is DD Form 2005. I know physically looking at a NAVMED Form 6150/21-30 the DD Form 2005 is on the front of page II or front of center page. 2) On page 4-14, left column, 6th bullet they say the Record of Occupational Exposure to Ionizing Radiation is form NAVMED 6470/10. But on page 4-28, right column, last two paragraphs says the Record of Occupational Exposure to Ionizing Radiation is form DD Form 1141. Which is the correct form? Thank you for your time and assistance with clarification. I am still patiently waiting for response from the Research Section, to my other inquiry regarding Controlled Substance Inventory from the same reference regarding Chapter 5 and Chapter 18.
