Transition Process

Topic

Long Description

The Transition Process is the method to move any system element to the next level in the physical architecture. Transition activities vary based on life-cycle phase, program scale, and system complexity. For the end-item system, it is the process to install and field the system to the user in the operational environment. The end-item system may need to be integrated with other systems in the operational environment honoring the defined external interfaces. In this case, the Transition Process needs to be performed in conjunction with the Integration Process and Interface Management Process for a smooth transition. This sub-topical area contains information on the Transition Process found in the DAG Chapter 4 section 4.3.17 [https://acc.dau.mil/dag4.3.17].
