The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for temporary employees to work as a Fire Support (Range Aid/Technician) in Idaho.

Duties

A Fire Support (GS-03, Range Aid), performs repetitive and simple dispatch duties such as ensuring all pertinent data is provided by the caller. Dispatches equipment or supplies in accordance with established procedures. Prepares and edits fire time reports. Collects documentation concerning fire injuries. Checks information for completeness; resolves any discrepancies. Prepares and edits fire time reports following fire timekeeping regulations.

A Fire Support (GS-04, Range Technician), performs basic dispatch duties such as ensuring all pertinent data is provided by the caller. Prepares and edits fire time reports; keeping track of hours of work for fire crews. Collects documentation concerning fire injuries; checking for any issues. Assists the supervisor in tracking budgetary items.

A Fire Support (GS-05, Range Technician), oversees the timekeeper who enters fire time reports following fire. Answers inquiries from supervisors and employees regarding timekeeping regulations. Collects documentation concerning fire injuries; ensuring completenees, and proper forms are used. Completes daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end required records, reports and summaries using established procedures. Processes and tracks travel for the fire organization.
