Accessibility Statement

Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 508)

USDA Rural Development is committed to providing web site functionality and content that is accessible to all individuals - with or without disabilities. To meet this commitment, we comply with the electronic and information technology (EIT) accessibility requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. 794).

Section 508 requires that all individuals with disabilities (whether members of the general public or Federal employees) have access to, and use of, information and data, comparable to individuals without disabilities - unless it imposes an undue burden on the responsible Federal department or agency. In such cases, alternative means or formats may be used to accommodate individual circumstances.

Accessibility Issues

USDA Rural Development staff design our web sites to meet or exceed Section 508 accessibility guidelines, always striving to improve the experience for all of our users. This includes supporting adaptive technologies, such as screen readers. We also regularly review our web sites for Section 508 compliance, taking remedial action when needed.

If you have any issues, questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of this web site, please contact our Rural Development Help Desk for assistance. They will address your concerns or refer your request to the appropriate Rural Development office for further assistance.
