Assets for Independence

Assets for Independence (AFI) is a community-based approach using financial education and matched savings accounts to help hardworking individuals move toward greater self-sufficiency.

Child Support

ACF partners with federal, state, tribal, and local governments to promote parental responsibility so children receive support from both parents even when they live in separate households.

Financial Capability

ACF-supported programs highlight the importance of financial capability.  We encourage programs to consider structuring their services and activities to strengthen financial capability among the populations they serve.

Health Profession Opportunity Grants

Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) provide education and training to individuals for occupations in the health care field that pay well and are expected to either experience labor shortages or be in high demand.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs.

Public Assistance Reporting Information System (PARIS)

PARIS is a data matching service matching recipients of public assistance to check if they receive duplicate benefits in two or more states. PARIS matches help identify improper payments and minimize fraud and abuse.

Social Services Block Grant

Social Services Block Grants (SSBG) support local programs that allow communities to achieve or maintain economic self-sufficiency to prevent, reduce or eliminate dependency on social services.
