Stationary energy storage technologies will address the growing limitations of the electricity infrastructure and meet
the increasing demand for renewable energy use. Widespread integration of energy storage devices offers many
benefits, including the following:
Alleviating momentary electricity interruptions
Meeting peak demand
Postponing or avoiding upgrades to grid infrastructure
Facilitating the integration of high penetrations of renewable energy
Providing other ancillary services that can improve the stability and resiliency of the electric grid
