DefenseTV is now available on Apple TV
By CHIPS Magazine - January 19, 2016
Defense Media Activity (DMA), the DoD’s direct line of communication for news and information to U.S. forces worldwide, and DVIDS, provider of world media with reliable access to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and coalition partners serving overseas, announced Jan. 15 that DefenseTV can now be downloaded for use on the new Apple TV from the new App Store.

DefenseTV provides an inside look at the world from the perspective of the U.S. armed forces, from live events — breaking news, press conferences, briefings, interviews, and award ceremonies — to NewsStream (DoD and Service news), and Military Spotlight, which features channels dedicated to the branches of the armed services as well as DoD organizations. Viewers can even enjoy serial shows such as “In the Fight,” Recon,” and “Battleground.” DefenseTV also provides a DVR-like functionality to allow users more control of their viewing experience.

The new Apple-friendly DefenseTV app was developed by DMA/DVIDS at the invitation of Apple Inc. DefenseTV was initially released in Aug. 2014 for Roku, followed by AmazonFire TV and Android TV. For more information about DefenseTV, click here.
