This website section responds to the identified need to have a centralized Web-based resource for all who use rabbits in research. The goal is to post successfully used reagents, protocols, primer sequences, and other information useful to researchers using the rabbit as an animal model of human diseases.
Available Resources
We need your help with the resources web section. If you have information related to the below resources, please join the NIAID Rabbit Immunology ListServ.
Antibodies
- Antibodies that DO and DO NOT react to CD and other cell/tissue markers
- Reactivity of 182 commercially available mAb against human CD antigens with cells from 17 different species, including some that cross-react with rabbit.

PCR Primers & Probes
During the Rabbit Immunology workshop, participants identified the need for a web section to post primers & probes and to include specifics on reaction conditions for use and/or links to publications, describing use of primers/probes.
Protein Products
During the Rabbit Immunology Workshop, participants identified the need for a Web section related to protein prducts, such as IFN-gamma, plasmid or protein.
Techniques
During the Rabbit Immunology Workshop, participants identified a need for a section describing techniques that are special in working with rabbit, such as the preservation technique for rabbit lymphocytes.
ListServ
NIAID has established the Rabbit Immunology ListServ to help facilitate the exchange of information and encourage researcher collaboration. All messages to the list will be monitored and approved by NIAID staff.
Users can register for, unsubscribe from, and post messages to the list at: https://list.nih.gov/archives/rabbitimm.html.
To send an email to the group, please contact rabbitimm@list.nih.gov.
For information on how to use the list serv, please see the Instructions for General Users.
Meetings & Meeting Summaries
- Rabbit Workshop Summary: Use of the Rabbit to Model Infectious Diseases of Human, May 24, 2005
- Comparative Immunoglobulin Workshop: an all-volunteer group of investigators actively involved in studies on immunoglobulins (Igs), Fc-receptors, T cell receptors (TCR) and their genes in species other than laboratory rats, mice or primates (please see information about various species, including rabbits). Visit the workshop web site for meetings information through the meetings link.
