Have you dreamed about becoming a meteorologist? Do you see yourself as a cyber warrior outsmarting cyber criminals and electronic spies? Are you interested in marine science and oceanography? Are you the go-to person when friends want to learn about a new technology or their Wi-Fi goes on the blink?
If so, the U.S. Navy can offer you a challenging career in information-intensive fields.
In a highly networked world, modern warfare includes the information domain. With information easier to access and more exploitable than ever, America’s Navy has created the Information Dominance Corps (IDC) – a community charged with mastering the capabilities, tools and techniques required to effectively collect, process, analyze and apply information.
Made up of officers and enlisted Sailors, members of the Information Dominance Corps perform work in cyber, intelligence, communications and networks, meteorology, oceanography, and space professions.
Collaboratively, they develop and defend vital intelligence, networks and systems. They manage the critical information that supports U.S. Navy, joint and national warfighting requirements.
And they use cyber warfare to maintain the Navy’s essential technological edge.
