National Energy Technology Laboratory - The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is the lead field center for the Office of Fossil Energy's research and development program. Scientists at its Pittsburgh, Pa., and Morgantown, W. Va., campuses conduct onsite research while contract administrators oversee nearly 700 federally-sponsored projects conducted by private sector research partners. The Houston, Texas, office is part of the Laboratory's Strategic Center for Natural Gas and Oil. NETL's Arctic Energy Office in Anchorage, Alaska, facilitates energy research related to fossil energy resources and remote electrical power generation to address the State of Alaska's unique energy needs. Researchers at NETL-Albany, in Albany, Ore., are specialists in advanced materials with particular expertise in wear and corrosion, melting and casting, and materials development. 

Strategic Petroleum Reserve Project Management Office - Based outside of New Orleans, La., this office oversees the day-to-day operations of the major crude oil storage sites and logistical facilities for the nation's emergency oil stockpile.
