Welcome to the District 13 Web Site

Happy New Year!  We, the men and women of the Thirteenth Coast Guard District Auxiliary, are the uniformed civilian volunteer arm of the US Coast Guard. The beautiful Pacific Northwest is home to our contingency of over 1,000 Auxiliarists who conduct their missions in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Our area of responsibility covers more than 4,400 miles of coastline, 600 miles of inland waterways and a 125-mile international maritime border with Canada.

We are a multi-mission organization working together to provide education, prevention and response capabilities towards our primary goal of promoting Recreational Boating Safety.  We accomplish this by using our surface and air facilities to patrol coastal and inland waterways, provide courtesy vessel safety checks to recreational boaters, teach public education courses to both adults and children, as well as participate at public affair events such as trade shows.

Our partners include the US Coast Guard, the Army Corps of Engineers, Navy League, US Power Squadron, boating law administrators and numerous local agencies. We provide member training for our volunteers, conduct aids to navigation verifications, and support life jacket loaner stations.  Our members augment the Coast Guard through Auxiliary Food Service, Clergy Support and Ombudsman Programs.  We are active in the Auxiliary University Program providing the Coast Guard and Auxiliary with young, talented, educated, dedicated, diverse and well-trained leaders to meet the service’s operational and mission support needs.  Our outstanding publication newsletters highlight the many missions of the Auxiliary.

We are proud of our accomplishments and invite you to join us. Browse through our website to learn more about who we are, what we do and the numerous opportunities for service that are available.   America’s Volunteer Lifesavers inspire me daily, and I am honored to serve alongside those members who exemplify our core values of honor, respect and devotion to duty.
