Coastal National Monument

The Bureau of Land Management's California Coastal National Monument includes more than 20,000 small islands, rocks and pinnacles along the entire length of California's shoreline, 1,100 miles from Mexico to Oregon, and extends 12 nautical miles (13.8 land miles) from the mainland.

Livestock Grazing

Livestock grazing was one of the earliest uses of public lands. Today, BLM permits 7 million acres of public lands in California for livestock grazing.

Native Plants Program

There are 398 Special Status Plants that are known to occur on Bureau of Land Management lands in California, 46 are federally listed.

Forests and Woodlands

The Bureau of Land Management in California manages 1.6 million forest acres, 900,000 acres are woodlands, 200,000 acres are commercial forest, and 100,000 acres are noncommercial forest.
