INITIAL CLAIM

Initial claims are filed online using CONNECT. Claimants will have to register for a claimant account either as an existing or new claimant and create a personal identification number (PIN). Once an account has been created, the claimant can start the initial claim process.

Claimants will be able to view and maintain account information, view child support summary, view monetary and issue summaries, view payment information, select a payment method, view frequently asked questions and register for work with Employ Florida Marketplace.

Claimants may be exempt from filing an online claim application and/or the work registration requirements.  Please review the Exemption Notice  for more information.

For more information and specific instructions on filing an initial claim, please read the Benefits Rights Information Booklet and the CONNECT Claimant User Guide.
