NREL Highlights 2010 Utility Green Power Leaders

Green pricing is an optional utility service that allows customers an opportunity to support a greater level of utility company investment in renewable energy technologies. Participating customers pay a premium on their electric bills to cover the incremental cost of the additional renewable energy. To date, nearly 850 utilities, including investor-owned, municipal utilities, and cooperatives, offer a green pricing option. Utility green pricing sales exhibited strong growth of 15% in 2013, primarily due to sales increases in some of the largest programs.

Utility Programs by State

The table shown here summarizes utility green pricing programs by state. Please contact our Webmaster if you have more recent information regarding these or new green pricing programs.
