Fiscal Year 2017 EERE Budget Request
The Fiscal Year 2017 budget request of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) continues to support the government's role in research, solutions, and alternatives to address the nation's most important energy, environmental, and economic challenges. EERE's $2.9 billion request helps fulfill the U.S. pledge to double federal clean energy research and development investments government-wide over the next five years, including $2.1 billion for Mission Innovation, an initiative signed by 20 countries to accelerate worldwide clean energy innovation and cost reduction. This is an increase of $702 million from the enacted FY 2016 budget. See also EERE's FY 2017 Congressional Budget Request.
