Speedy Bat Smashes Speed Record
A new study suggests that the Brazilian free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) may achieve speeds of up to 160 kilometers (99.42 miles) per hour in level flight.
This ranks this species of bats faster than any previously documented bird or bat in level flight.
