The Wright brothers' twelve-second flight at Kitty Hawk launches the aerial age.

In a test at Kitty Hawk in October 1902, Orville Wright and Dan Tate launch a glider with Wilbur Wright as the pilot. With the flight a success, the brothers return to Dayton, Ohio, to develop a propeller and engine for the next step, a flying machine.
