NWRC Chemical Effects Database

The NWRC Chemical Effects Database is a searchable database that contains bioassay records and data for chemicals analyzed and evaluated for repellency, toxicity, reproductive inhibition, and immobilization. Studies were conducted from 1943 to 1987 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC), its predecessors, and by the U.S. Geological Survey's Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (PWRC) (formerly part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service).

The online database comprises published data only. The entire database, including unpublished data, is currently searchable by NWRC staff.

For more information about the database or to conduct unpublished data searches, please direct inquiries to Jeanette.R.O’Hare@aphis.usda.gov.

For information regarding the raw data archives, please contact Jennifer.M.Edwards@aphis.usda.gov.

Disclaimer: Efforts have been made to ensure that the information in the NWRC Chemical Effects Database accurately reflects the original data source (i.e., raw data archives and primary scientific literature). However, database users should refer to the original publication in order to verify data values and thoroughly understand the context in which the data were developed and any appropriate limitations on their use. No representations are made as to the accuracy or validity of the primary data.
