Judge Wedekind was appointed in February of 2010. He previously worked for 20 years at the NLRB headquarters in Washington, D.C. He began as a staff attorney for Chairman Dotson and subsequently served in various senior executive positions, including Deputy Chief Counsel to then-Member Liebman, Chief Counsel to Chairman Truesdale, and Solicitor. Before joining the NLRB, he represented employees in litigation against employers and unions as a staff attorney with the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation. He received a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Florida, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from George Washington University. He is a past chapter editor of How to Take a Case Before the NLRB (BNA) and the current editor of the NLRB Judges Bench Book. He was an SSA judge in Miami for 5 years before transferring to the NLRB Judges Division.
