We’re currently in the midst of a revolution that has seen costs for wind and solar technologies, electric vehicles (EVs), and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) drop by as much as 94% since 2008.

New 'Energy Talks' Series Introduces Students to Clean Energy Technologies

The first in a series of "Energy Talks" kicked off at the Energy Department on Oct. 11 with 100 ninth-graders from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, listening to talks on everything from fuel cell technologies to building efficiency to future careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

National Geographic Hosts the Energy Department's STEM Mentoring Café for Students

What will motivate America’s youth to reach for high-demand jobs in growing industry sectors? By sharing the excitement of cutting-edge careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), professionals are helping dreams take shape for these young people. The Energy Department – in collaboration with public and private partners – sponsors a fun, interactive initiative called the STEM Mentoring Café to expose students to STEM careers.

National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition: Five Regional Winners Head to Final Round in Washington, D.C.

Anticipation for the final round of the National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition is growing. Over the past two months, student-led start-ups have faced intense competition and judging panels of industry and financial experts in five regional contests throughout the United States. Five winning regional teams have been crowned, and they will now advance to compete for $50,000 in the fourth annual National Competition in Washington, D.C., on June 24.

New Videos to Help Improve Energy Literacy Throughout the Nation

Today, the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) released the first four videos in a series highlighting each of the seven essential principles presented in the DOE Energy Literacy Framework. EERE also released the Spanish-language version of the Get Current coloring book, which is part of an ongoing effort to expand educational resources for the growing Spanish-speaking population in the United States.
