Affordable Membership Structure
GLMA's membership structure reflects the multidisciplinary nature of our membership, and provides flexibility in supporting GLMA’s mission with a convenient, tax-deductible membership contribution.

Please consider joining or renewing your membership as an Advocate, Partner or Leader for LGBT Health, or at any other amount which your budget allows.

The basic Health Professional Membership is priced to encourage membership across all disciplines and professions. Your contributions above the basic membership level are a significant investment in GLMA’s policy and advocacy efforts to advance LGBT health equality.

Become a Sustaining Member
A Sustaining Membership allows you to make small contributions each month or quarter while making a big impact for LGBT healthcare equality.  We will process your contribution by credit card once a month or quarter, so your membership will never lapse and you will never have to renew.

You can be a Sustaining Member at the Advocate for LGBT Health level for only $25 a month.

Most GLMA members join to support our advocacy.
Since 1981, GLMA has been working for equality in healthcare for LGBT patients and providers. Learn more about

• The more the $754,000 which the Lesbian Health Fund has granted to support scientific research in the area of lesbian health;
• and our other recent accomplishments.

GLMA is an interdisciplinary association for all health care professionals.
Our members are physicians, researchers, nurses, physician assistants, counselors, health policy advocates, dentists, faculty members, administrators, and from many other health care professions.

We work in LGBT health centers and clinics, governments agencies, community based non-profits, private practice, educational institutions, insurance companies and health care systems.

Some of us are still preparing for our chosen profession; others are retired and still involved in promoting equality.

We hope that GLMA can be a home for you too. 
 

Building a Community
While some of us have the benefit of working for LGBT friendly employers, not everyone does. Some professions and medical schools can be particularly homophobic. GLMA offers opportunities to build a community within our community. 

The annual conference also offers opportunities to network professionally with others in your specialty, or from around the country.

Student members and professionals alike have the chance to form mentoring relationships and all members can be listed within and also search our member directory to find others in your region or specialty.
 

Online Provider Directory
LGBT health disparities exist, in part, because of patients difficultly in finding culturally competent health care providers. While advocacy and education will eliminate these barriers someday, GLMA wants all health care consumers to be able to find an LGBT friendly and welcoming provider today. We offer free listings in our provider directory for all LGBT friendly providers, including our allies who are “straight for equality.” 

• Free listings include: a primary address and phone number, your specialties, licensing or credential info, and an email address.
• Enhanced Listings for members also include: priority placement in search results, GLMA membership signifier, educational background, map & directions, a personal statement, additional office information, a photo and website address.

Communications
Members also receive copies of the weekly LGBT Health Digest, action alerts, members only email updates, and the quarterly GLMA Report.
