The outcomes of the 24th Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) underscored the importance of robust U.S. engagement at the Council, where the United States continues to work with a diverse range of countries from all regions to address urgent human rights concerns.

The United States joins the sponsors of the resolution in condemning all forms of violence against persons with albinism.

Just a few moments ago the Human Rights Council voted overwhelmingly to condemn the continuing grave deterioration of the human rights and humanitarian situation in Syria.

While we support the goal of establishing regional and sub-regional arrangements for the promotion and protection of human rights, we are concerned about the financial implications of this resolution

The United States is proud to co-sponsor the Human Rights Council’s first resolution on creating and maintaining, in law and in practice, a safe and enabling environment for civil society.

The United States recognizes the importance and challenges of meeting basic needs for water and sanitation to support health, economic development, peace and security.

The United States is pleased to join consensus on the resolution on the World Programme for Human Rights Education and thanks Costa Rica and the other sponsors of this resolution for their efforts to achieve consensus.
