NIST Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO)
The AMO is responsible for the NIST Manufacturing USA Institute Program with its 2016 Competition, the AMTech Program, which funds industry-driven technology consortia that establish technology roadmaps addressing long-term U.S. industrial research needs. In addition, the AMO serves as headquarters for the national Manufacturing USA program.
Current Competition
On February 19, 2016, NIST released a Federal Funding Opportunity seeking applications for Manufacturing USA Institute awards from eligible applicants. This open-topic competition will support the establishment and operation of one or more NIST Manufacturing Innovation Institutes in areas of national need. We expect to announce competition results in early 2017.
