The NIH Intramural Research Program conducts distinctive, high-risk, high-impact laboratory, clinical and population-based research in a unique environment, where it also trains a diverse population of outstanding future researchers.
Within the larger NIH community, the NIDCR Division of Intramural Research supports outstanding basic, translational and clinical research and training to advance our understanding of biological processes relevant to dental, oral, and craniofacial health.
We accomplish our mission by:
- Performing basic and clinical research that emphasizes high quality and relevance to health
- Training the next generation of researchers in our laboratories and clinic, and
- Translating the results of our research through publications and technology transfer.
