What is a guidance tool in the Toolkit?

Guidance tools can include case studies, best practice documents, process models, policies and directives, tips and techniques, training programs, "lessons learned", presentations, and other practical tools. Federal agencies can use these tools to promote and implement effective management of Government information. These can be formatted as documents, interactive guidance products, web sites, and other forms. While all tools that are included in the web site have been evaluated by NARA, inclusion does not imply NARA endorsement of the tool.

Who should use this Toolkit?

The Toolkit was designed for a wide audience in the U.S. government to help people efficiently and effectively manage their electronic records and information. However, the tools and resources in the Toolkit can be used by government officials everywhere.

Will you be identifying more guidance tools for the Toolkit?

Yes. NARA will review and add more guidance resources in the coming months.
