Despite overall economic growth, 30 percent of Peru's population still lives in poverty, with rural poverty at 61 percent. USAID works with the government of Peru to improve linkages to domestic and international markets, increase access to financial services, and promote private sector competitiveness.

USAID's Economic Development Program in Peru aims to:
