Big Game Hunting

Fish and Game has commenced winter feeding in the Southwest, the Magic Valley, the Southeast and the Upper Snake regions.

With the big game hunting seasons over, Idaho Fish and Game reminds hunters to file their harvest reports on their 2016 deer, elk and pronghorn hunts. Hunters are required to file a report for each tag they purchased whether they went hunting or not.

Idaho Fish and Game wants to hear from hunters on proposed changes to moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat seasons for 2017 and 2018.

Moose proposals There are primarily changes proposed in the Panhandle and eastern Idaho. The changes are listed below in these categories:

Bighorn Sheep proposals Proposed changes include tag changes in several units and several new hunts, including for ewe

Mountain Goat proposals There are no proposed changes to mountain goat seasons from prior seasons and rules.
