Professional-Development-to-Go

The Office of Head Start requires a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year for all program staff members who support the progress of children’s development. Professional development should be high-quality, sustained, intensive, and outcome-focused in order to have a positive and lasting impact on the staff member’s performance to provide nurturing and intentional interactions with parents and families designed to foster each child’s development and learning.

In this section, find ready-to-use professional development (PD) resources. These products may be useful to program managers, trainers, consultants, and those working in early education and care programs. The materials in this section reflect evidence-based practices that include:

  • Intensive, ongoing, active learning experiences
  • Specific, practice-focused content
  • Self-assessment and feedback
  • Alignment with instructional goals, learning standards, and curriculum materials

PD-to-Go offers comprehensive resources that help to promote workshop outcomes across a variety of content areas. At a minimum, each resource includes:
