USAID/Tanzania is working to control malaria, provide children with life-saving nutritional supplements, train health workers, improve maternal health facilities, and scale up voluntary family planning services.

USAID's health program in Tanzania aims to:

  • Improve access to family planning and reproductive health;
  • Support comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs;
  • Reduce the impact and spread of malaria;
  • Improve maternal and child health services;
  • Decrease the burden of tuberculosis; and
  • Improve water supply and sanitation.
