Program Components

NIH has established the essential components of the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program to support multiple, synergistic longitudinal studies of mothers and their children. The ECHO program will extend and expand existing cohort studies to determine the factors that influence health outcomes in children, from conception to early childhood. Research will focus on upper and lower airway health and development, obesity, and brain and nervous system development. This interactive map identifies the location of the primary awardee institutions that support each of the program components. Click the dots below to learn more about each of these components.
