USAID's Investments for Economic Development in Democratic Republic of the Congo - Dollars to Results
FY 2011 $11.8 M
FY 2012 $17.0 M
Why Our Work Matters…
Economic growth creates opportunities, improves quality of life, and reduces poverty.
Agriculture accounts for 42.5 percent of the DRC’s gross domestic product; employs 62 percent of its men and 84 percent of its women; and is the country’s most promising foundation for establishing food security and sustainable, equitable economic development.
USAID's Economic Development Program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo aims to:
- Increase agricultural productivity and growth;
- Promote economic opportunity; and
- Build necessary economic infrastructure.
