Silver Lake Improvement Board
Oceana County, Michigan

Welcome!

The Silver Lake Improvement Board was established under Part 309 (Inland Lake Improvements) of Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act. In accordance with the act, the Silver Lake Improvement Board includes a lakefront property owner, two representatives from Golden Township, the county drain commissioner and a county commissioner.

In 2012, the Silver Lake Improvement Board held a public hearing on a three-year improvement program for Silver Lake. The program began in 2013 and continued through 2015. The primary focus of the program was a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of Silver Lake. The evaluation was conducted by scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Grand Valley State University’s Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI). Click here for more details.

Mark your calendar! An informational meeting regarding the USGS/AWRI evaluation has been scheduled for Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. at The Beacon at Grace Adventures. Click here for the meeting notice.

Lake board project activities are coordinated by the lake board’s environmental consultant, Progressive AE.

This website has been designed to provide Silver Lake residents information about ongoing project activities.
