USAID’s education program help to increase access to education and improve the performance of the education system. This will help raise educational achievement and curb dropout rates.

Why Our Work Matters…
Globally, more than 70 million school-age children do not have access to schooling. Of those who do attend, hundreds of millions more are not being taught the basic skills that they require to be competitive in economic sectors in a globalized world.

1,360,370 learners enrolled in secondary schools and/or equivalent non-school based settings
Counting the number of learners indicates of the scope of the program and the number of direct beneficiaries of basic education programs. A non-school based setting may include USG funded educational radio or television programming.
1,895 adult learners enrolled in schools or equivalent non-school based settings
Number of adult learners formally enrolled in USG-supported schools or equivalent non-school based settings for the purpose of acquiring academic basic education skills or knowledge. Counting the number of learners provides an overall sense of scope.
672 teachers and educators trained
Training teachers and educators supports capacity building for educators and schools and improves the quality of education.
517 school administrators and officials trained

Training supports institutional capacity building for host country education administrators and officials and is important to sustain a good education system. 
189 parent teacher associations (PTAs) or school governance structures supported
Supporting school governance structures, such as PTAs is an important way to promote capacity building at the local level; promote opportunities for democracy in action and accountability; and increase parental commitment to education.

USAID, in close collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, has set up a program that aims at reinforcing reform in education deployed by the Moroccan government to reduce school drop outs, and to bridge the gap between offer and demand on vocational training for employment.
