Honduras is one of the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere with 66 percent of Hondurans living in poverty, and more than 45 percent of those living in extreme poverty. USAID's Economic Growth Program aims to reduce poverty and improve food security by supporting agricultural diversification, fostering natural resource management, developing sustainable tourism opportunities, promoting renewable energy, and mitigating climate change.
